Restaurant owner hurt in crash

0632774.jpgCHRISTIES Leisure Group owner Howard Holland crashed his Jeep Wrangler into the front of the former Guernsey Brewery last night.

The entrepreneur was taken to hospital after his vehicle smashed through a steel fence and broke down large red front doors of the building at the South Esplanade.

He confirmed this morning that he had been behind the wheel. ā€˜I’m fine now. I just lost control of it,’ he said. Mr Holland was treated in hospital for suspected chest injuries.

Police were called at about 9.40pm and Mr Holland, whose company owns Christies, The Square, the Boathouse and the Buddah Bar among others, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Two teenagers witnessed the crash and came to his aid.
