Busy weekend set for big disruption

Saturday 6th September 2008, 9:30AM BST.

0241726.jpgPowerboating is one of several sports that could be hit by the weather this weekend.

THE weekend’s sport is in danger of being a wash-out.

According to the Guernsey Meteorological Department, today will see heavy showers with 31mph gusts from the Atlantic making the sea conditions rough.

And it will continue to be wet tomorrow as well. It is not only the world powerboat racing taking place off Castle Cornet that looks to be affected.

This is all very bad news for the islands’ sportsmen as there is a full schedule of events planned.

The bad weather not only causes problems when it comes to actually playing the sport, but with travelling between the islands as well.
