Mavericks no more in Div. One

THE Investec Men’s Division One is a team short this season.

Mavericks who were formed last year have just announced that they will not be entering a team into this year’s league which kicks off today.

They cited insufficient number of players for them dropping out of the competition.

‘I’m disappointed that we’ve lost one of the sides but we’re looking at all avenues to see how we can get them back for next year,’ said Guernsey Hockey chief executive, Andy Roberts. I wish we could have come up with a solution [for this season] but we just ran out of time.’
