COBO landed their sixth GCA Cup success in seven years at KGV yesterday and barely broke sweat in doing so.
Stuart Le Prevost’s side of all-stars won by 93 runs the day after clinching their place in the CI Club Championship final. No wonder Le Prevost was a happy man as he headed off to the club’s post-game victory barbecue.
‘It was particularly good to win yesterday. The CI game was a priority, but after winning in Jersey we had the confidence to take into this one.’
Cobo posted 199 for four in their 50 overs and once GH Smit was superbly snapped up by TJ Ozanne having scored 23 of the first 31 of Rovers’ reply and Tim Duke followed on the same score, chopping on to man of the match Blane Queripel, the game looked as good as over as a contest.
‘It was a difficult track,’ said Le Prevost. ‘Two hundred was a decent score on that track.’
