DALE GARLAND said his heart leapt with joy when he saw his stunning bride walk down the aisle at their wedding on Saturday.
The star athlete wed Rachael, formerly Carre, at St Saviour’s Church in front of family and friends.
‘It was just the perfect day and Rachael looked absolutely beautiful,’ he said. ‘I was pretty calm throughout, but I was nervous at the rehearsal on Thursday.
‘It wasn’t like the nerves I get before a big race because it dawned on me that this is a lifelong commitment. But I’d say it’s good to be nervous about something as important as a marriage. We’re just looking forward to starting our lives together now.’
The happy couple leave today for a honeymoon that will start with a few days in Paris and finish in Greece.
