Guernseyman’s email gets national exposure
Monday 15th September 2008, 1:00PM BST.
PAUL ELEY’S embarrassing email has gone global. His comical search for a ‘reasonable nice to look at’ female flatmate has made headlines in Saturday’s Sun, The Express and The Telegraph.
The email has been forwarded to thousands of people since it was first circulated to colleagues on Tuesday.
‘Mail chauvinist seeks flat skivvy’ read the tabloid, while the broadsheet went for the more restrained, ‘Wanted: Pretty woman flatmate who will cook and clean’.
The stories are the latest ones to poke fun at the farce, which was highlighted in the Guernsey Press and then picked up by The Daily Mail on Friday. Coverage reported how Mr Eley (pictured) had been disciplined by bosses at investment company Concept Group Ltd Guernsey for his sexist behaviour.
The Sun even quoted an unnamed co-worker who claimed that the 30-year-old fiduciary administrator could be sacked.
