MILES PENGELLEY was North’s hero with an injury-time winner to see off a determined Sylvans side at Northfield on Saturday.
The young fullback’s left-footed scissor kick saved the blushes of Mick Le Prevost’s men, who were second best for much of the game and were also thankful for several fine stops from goalkeeper Richard Davey.
It could have been very different if Glyn Dyer had scored when presented with a double opportunity in the third minute. His first effort produced a stunning point-blank reflex save from Ash Williams, while Dyer couldn’t get over the ball enough for the rebound and hit the crossbar.
