WAIT and see was the reaction of three of Guernsey’s leading players over the possibility of playing for a ‘Guernsey United’ team.
Simon Tostevin, the 2007 Guernsey player of the year, 2005 Muratti replay penalty hero Nathan Pattimore and 2007 Junior Muratti scorer Alex Le Prevost have all said that they would consider the move, after the release of more information.
North striker Tostevin said: ‘If I was wanted, I would give it serious consideration because it sounds really exciting. It is a big commitment so I would need assurances about aspects of away games such as not having many overnight stops.’
Pattimore agreed, thinking a meeting would need to take place to inform the players.
‘If it goes ahead, they will have to speak to us so we can find out what level of commitment is necessary. There is a lot to talk about first. If this had been three or four years ago, then it would have been much easier to say yes to.’
