0640873.jpgTHE Guernsey branch of the Securities & Investment Institute has a new president. Rupert Stow has succeeded Fionnuala Carvill.

Mr Stow (pictured) has been a member for 10 years and currently works for Generali Portfolio Management (CI) Ltd as head of investment management.

He said he was very pleased to be taking the reins. ‘I’ve been in Guernsey for four years and I’ve been involved with the SII here since I arrived.

‘The then president, Shaun Lacey, asked me to go along to some continual professional development meetings and shortly afterwards I joined the committee. I was secretary for a while and when Fionnuala became president, she was looking for a vice-president and I stepped forward. This is the next step.’

Mr Stow started his career working for a stockbroker and then moved over to working for a bank in the investment area. He joined Generali four years ago on the fixed-income side and has been there ever since and his remit has broadened to include discretionary management.
