Let’s work together – AIC
Thursday 18th September 2008, 2:30PM BST.
THE Association of Investment Companies has met representatives of GuernseyFinance to discuss ways of furthering their mutual interests.
Both want to promote Guernsey as a good place to do business. AIC director-general Daniel Godfrey (pictured), who was in the island to present a seminar about the changes to the Guernsey companies law, said the meeting had been beneficial.
‘We have opened a number of new avenues to GuernseyFinance in terms of promoting Guernsey as a good place to do business and we’re supporting the funds forum in London on Tuesday 7 October.
‘We’ve also made enquiries about having a Guernsey membership on our board, which has been well received here with some strong indications of interest from some highly respected and qualified individuals and we hope it materialises into formal nominations shortly.’
The association is the trade organisation for the UK’s closed-ended investment company industry and was established in 1932. It represents a broad range, incorporating investment trusts, offshore closed-ended investment companies, venture capital trusts, Aim-traded investment companies and a Euronext company.
