NORTH put their uninspiring performance at the weekend behind them last night as they got the better of Bels in a highly entertaining Wheway Cup first round tie at Northfield.

The chocolate-and-blues were fortunate to beat Sylvans 1-0 in the Priaulx on Saturday after being second best for most of the match.

But it was a different North side yesterday evening as, with the rivals level at 1-1 after 90 minutes, they proceeded to score another three times against the league champions to make sure the honours were theirs.

‘I’m totally delighted, especially after the weekend’s performance where people weren’t doing their jobs properly,’ said North coach Mick Le Prevost. ‘We played well first half. We had so many chances.

‘Bels had a bit of the play in the second half, but the best team won.’
