THE North Show’s equestrian section has returned to its roots. The event’s 40 classes were held recently in the north of the island for the first time since 2000, in the fields next to Oatlands Village.
Sarnian Andi Baran, who now lives in Australia, presided over the judging.
‘I am pleasantly surprised to see how well the riders have produced their ponies and horses and the standard of riding has also improved since I was last here judging,’ she said.
The first day saw all the showing classes.
The opening three were for leading rein and first ridden competitors and these produced wins for Georgia Smale, Grace Hicks and Shawn Camp respectively.
