ITALY was not kind to triple world champion Andy Priaulx this weekend with just two points all he could take away from the 10th meeting of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at the Imola track.
It was seventh in race two for the BMW Team UK driver that gave him those points, after a disappointing 11th place finish in race one.
‘When I look back at the weekend, and especially race one, I feel this was a missed opportunity and I am taking the blame.
‘I could have braked half a second later into the first corner, but I suppose I was playing it safe, as I know what can happen in the first corner of a rolling start when you are 10th on the grid.
‘I could have been more aggressive, but then if I had gone off or been involved in a big accident it would have been worse,’ said the Guernsey driver.
