Commitment to cutting waste secures environmental award

AFR has become the first firm in Court Row to win the Keep Guernsey Green award. The law firm’s management team decided earlier this year to work towards the States environmental award.

The scheme encourages companies to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and become more environmentally aware.

‘We recognised that as a Guernsey firm, AFR should be doing much more to reduce, reuse and recycle and assume a corporate responsibility,’ said senior partner Peter Atkinson.

‘Following an initial consultation with the Environment Department, it became clear that we could make significant changes to waste management and procurement policies so after internal management meetings, we agreed as a business to pursue the goal of achieving a Keep Guernsey Green Award.’
