THE NashCopy club got off to a solid start in the OSA Recruitment Ladies’ League, with both teams winning in straight sets.

A focused Gestetner took on NRGI, who seemed nervous and their opponents capitalised by concentrating on strong serving from Kat Gillespie and captain Julia Webber.

Good teamwork by both teams made for some exciting rallies, but the experience of the Gestetner players proved too strong.

In the second set, NRGI started a little slowly, but displayed teamwork and produced good volleyball. Gestetner’s Claire Guilbert, although relatively new to the sport, showed astute court awareness with solid digging.

By the third set, Gestetner had relaxed into a nice rhythm and coach Karen Archenoul seemed pleased with the new-season team selection.
