Children as young as two in collection of indecent images

Thursday 9th October 2008, 2:29PM BST.

AN FBI-generated investigation led to more than 5,500 indecent images of children, some as young as two, being found at a man’s home.

When police executed a search warrant at Raymond Lampton’s house just after 5.30 one morning, he instantly admitted having the material on his computer.

‘There’s a lot on there,’ he said. ‘It’s very bad stuff and you’re not going to like it.’

In the Royal Court yesterday, Lampton, 56, admitted 10 counts of possessing indecent images of children and five counts of making indecent images of children.  He was jailed for four years with a further year under the supervision of the Probation Service.

Crown Advocate Graeme McKerrell told the court that the offences had come to light as the result of an FBI investigation into subscribers to child pornography sites operated by criminal organisations.
