Greens awaiting fate

GUERNSEY have a month to wait before finding out where they will slot into the World Cricket League ladder.
The Sarnians have been able to watch only from afar as Jersey have taken part in the Division Four tournament being held this week in Tanzania, knowing that at best they will need to qualify from at least two divisions to reach that level.
In 2009, the WCL will be expanded from five to seven divisions and Guernsey find out next month in which they will be placed. ‘We will be in either [Division] Six or Seven,’ said Guernsey Cricket Board chairman David Piesing (pictured).
‘The Division Seven tournament will be in the first half of 2009, Division Six in the second half, so that the top two from Seven will go into Six.
‘Then, the top two from that will go into Five to join Nepal and USA, who have stayed there [from the tournament held in Jersey in May] and the two teams who are relegated from Division Four this week.’
