THE iPhone is officially on sale in Guernsey at last.
The first buyer of Apple’s new handset from a local shop, 27-year-old Paul Adkins, said it was worth all the hype.
‘I’m chuffed to bits. I have wanted to get my hands on one for ages,’ he said. Mr Adkins, who works in business intelligence at Sportingbet, said he would be able to use the gadget – which he bought from Wave Telecom’s High Street store yesterday – for work as well as for entertainment.
‘Some of the guys from the UK who I work with have brought them over and made us very jealous, but now I can use mine for work and personal email, to access the mobile internet and, of course, as a phone, a camera and an iPod.’
But perhaps the most important thing, he said, was that it looked even better than he imagined – and better than a BlackBerry, its big smartphone rival.
- Sure has also launched a range of iPhone packages and they will be available from tomorrow.
