GESTETNER and Savills 1 have continued their positive starts in the OSA Recruitment Women’s volleyball League.

However, the champions were made to work hard by NashCopy for their latest win. The latter established an early lead in the first set, but that was slowly pegged back as Savills fought well to take it 25-23.

NashCopy quickly found themselves 11-4 down in the second, until strong serving from Lize-Mari Theron pulled them back into the match. Points were then traded and NashCopy saved a set point before Savills took a two-set lead.

The third was also close, with Carla Martel and Julie Elmy proving to be invaluable for their respective team, earning themselves most-valuable-player nominations. But it was Martel’s NashCopy who finally edged back into the match taking the set 25-23.

Sandy Ozanne gave Savills a healthy lead from the service line in the fourth, putting her team seven points ahead, and a positive spell from Jen Lindfield then opened the gap further.

A short-lived comeback through Karen Jehan’s serves was not enough and Savills took the match.
