REDEVELOPMENT of Les Beaucamps High School has finally been set in motion.
Education is submitting an application to the Environment Department seeking planning permission for the project. If approved, construction could begin in April 2010.
‘We know that we will have to wait until the States capital prioritisation debate next year before we can be certain of the funding for the construction of the new school,’ said Education minister Carol Steere.
‘But we want to be in a position to move forward as soon as we can if we get the green light.’
Money has been set aside for the early planning stages, said Deputy Steere. The final proposals will have feedback from staff and pupils as well as parish officials, neighbours and the community.
‘It is important that we show our continuing commitment to rebuilding Les Beaucamps,’ said Deputy Steere.
