Big reward to catch the Randall’s vandals

Wednesday 22nd October 2008, 2:30PM BST.

0292953.jpgAS POLICE continue to investigate the weekend’s spate of suspicious fires, Randall’s is offering £500 to anyone who can help catch hooligans who have been wrecking its old brewery.

Managing director Ian Rodgers said vandals have been getting onto the roof via Candie Gardens and have been ripping off tiles and throwing them at windows.

On Sunday, a staff member who lives on site saw the youngsters on the roof and shouted at them.

They launched a torrent of expletives at the man and that was when Mr Rodgers decided enough was enough.

‘I’m absolutely furious that we have this sort of behaviour going on,’ he said. ‘And even when they have been shouted at, they are brazen enough to tell our brewer to f-off. It’s unbelievable.’

Mr Rodgers said his employee had got a good view of the youths.

‘He would recognise them if he saw them again and that’s why we are asking people to provide us with a name that we can pass on to police,’ he said.
