CISX invests in the future

THE Channel Islands Stock Exchange has celebrated its 10th anniversary by making donations to educational causes.
The CISX has provided funding to the GTA University Centre’s new study centre in Guernsey and also sponsored a business centre at Highlands College in Jersey.
Chief executive Tammy Menteshvili (pictured) said it had wanted to put something back into the community.
‘Education is a very important part of our finance centre’s ability to grow in the future. We must train and educate our young people in order to make sure that we continue to thrive’.
The CISX was established by Ms Menteshvili with half a dozen staff and now employs 25 people. ‘We have retained most of the people whom we started out with, which I’m extremely proud of.
‘Under the difficult conditions under which we operate in Guernsey, it’s difficult to do that. With a new business that had no history, people are reluctant to take risks, so I’m happy that they have chosen to stay loyal to us.
