THERE is a familiar look to the Guernsey Sea Anglers Club’s overall and shore championship lists as Peter Frise is the leader of both and by big margins in each.
He had a runaway win in the all-day in Herm match for the Anquetil Cup. He landed 23 garfish, four ballan wrasse and seven black bream for 35-15-0 and a massive 303.75 points.
Mike Weysom in second place had six garfish and three ballan wrasse for 11-7-0 and 95.75 points. The event attracted an unusually low number of seven members and all but one found fish.
The total catch consisted of 38 garfish, 11 ballan wrasse, one grey mullet, nine black bream and one mackerel.
The top two fish of the day were a 5-5-10 ballan wrasse by Frise, which gave him the competition kitty, and a 4-9-5 wrasse by Weysom.
As a result of the match, Frise’s lead over Weysom in the overall list is 214.75 points and 171 on the shore one.
