St Martin’s 2, Sylvans 0

ST MARTIN’S are on a roll. They were far from being at their best against youthful Sylvans last night at Blanche Pierre Lane, yet they still strolled to victory and missed a hatful of chances to boot.

‘Hopefully we will keep this momentum and this attitude going,’ said Saints boss Colin Fallaize. ‘In all fairness, it was comfortable tonight, even though we had to grind it out a bit,’ he admitted.

‘We kept managing to shoot over the bar from five yards. I might run that drill [tonight] in training because I think it is impossible to do it again.’

Right from Mark Le Tissier’s opening whistle, the home side dominated the first half with the wind at their backs and had already had a few attempts on goal before Chris Le Noury broke the deadlock on 12min.
