Liquidators will try to save events
Friday 31st October 2008, 11:30AM GMT.
Efforts are being made to ensure that next year’s Guernsey Awards for Achievement event will go ahead.
THE liquidators of Wallace Barnaby are doing their best to make sure major events go ahead. CMA, which was part of the failed advertising and marketing group, organised many functions.
‘Our focus must be on preserving creditors’ interests to ensure the fullest return for them from this unfortunate situation.
‘However, as long as there is no cost to creditors, we are willing to explore any and every option which will enable events previously operated by CMA to take place,’ said Alan Rabet, of Begbies Traynor (Channel Islands), who was appointed joint liquidator with colleague Alan Roberts on Friday.
This evening’s Guernsey Investment Fund Association Dinner will now be run by the members of the association.
‘We are also working hard to secure similar results for events such as the Guernsey Awards for Achievement in February,’ said Mr Rabet.
The Jersey Evening Post Home & Lifestyle Show will go ahead as planned from Thursday after an agreement was made with the States of Jersey.
