MANAGING director of The Learning Company Kathy Tracey has been named boss of the year 2008.

The new award was launched by Guernsey’s longest established recruitment agency, Personnel Appointments, and asked for local staff to send in nominations explaining why their boss was the best.

Ms Tracey launched the company, which provides tailored training and consultancy services, in 1999.

She was visibly shocked to discover she had won the award at a ceremony held at Personnel Appointment’s arcade premises this week.

‘I’m completely blown away. But thank you to my staff who are the most fantastic group of people ever.’

Ms Tracey, who was presented with an engraved silver wine coaster, flowers and champagne, said everyone at the company worked hard to make sure there was a positive work environment.
