Monday 3rd November 2008, 2:30PM GMT.
Family man Jason Piriou.
GUERNSEY Milk Retailers’ Association president Jason Piriou died on Saturday after collapsing while fishing.
An Ambulance and Rescue Service Rib brought Mr Piriou, 37, ashore from rocks below La Rocque Poisson, near his St Peter’s home.
Police escorted the ambulance that took him to hospital, where the married father of three was pronounced dead.
Tributes quickly poured in as the news spread. GMRA committee member Brian Martel said milkmen were stunned.
‘Jason was held in high regard by everybody,’ he said. ‘He was very much an outgoing and bright character.’
Members will maintain his round in the Albecq-Port Soif area. Customers can call his home number as calls will be diverted to GMRA vice-president Ian Wood.

A decent, soft and quietly spoken man. A terrible loss to his family. I’m so sorry.

I remember messing around on L’Eree common with Jason as a young nipper. Any loss is always sad, particularly at such a young age with a young family. God bless.

Jason was our milkman for many years.
Jason was the decent, soft spoken man as Jackie says. We would add that he was always very helpful and reliable as a milkman
