GHOSTS, ghouls and Goths invaded Castle Cornet at Halloween.
Dozens of families were among the 450 people at an event organised by Culture and Leisure. ‘I was thoroughly impressed by how much effort had gone into all the outfits that people wore.
‘It really brought the castle to life,’ said director of museums Jason Monaghan. The £5 entry for all included either witches’ brew soup or sausage in a coffin, prepared at the castle cafe.
Staff from sponsor Healthy Direct organised games, in one of which people had to put on a polythene glove before dipping their hand into five pots and deciding which of Frankenstein’s body parts was in each.
Dr Monaghan said the evening was aimed at providing a mixture of thrills and fear but without giving anyone nightmares.
