Monday 3rd November 2008, 2:29PM GMT.
ONE in four islanders are worried about job security, according to a survey published today.
Two in five expect to spend less eating out next year, while 42% said they planned to cut back on household fuels – oil, gas and electricity.
Island Analysis set out to establish how people in Guernsey and Jersey were coping with the ‘credit crunch’.
‘This survey highlights how confident or concerned islanders in both Jersey and Guernsey are currently feeling with regard to the world and island economic situation,’ said the firm’s Chris Brock (pictured).
A representative sample of 1,500 people equally split between the two jurisdictions took part.
‘As the information provides a valuable benchmark for local businesses, we are intending to update it quarterly,’ said Mr Brock.
