Jensen hits her top form to finish fifth

0642401.jpgKATHERINE JENSEN reached the quarter-finals of the Technofibre British Junior Squash Championships. The competition was held at the Wimbledon Squash Club and the elite gold status event attracts top players from all around Britain.

Guernsey girl Jensen (pictured) played exceptionally well to end the tournament in fifth position, three places above her England Squash ranking.

In the quarter-finals she faced Northumbria’s Lucy Beecroft, the number two seed. Despite putting up a tough fight, Jensen lost the encounter 3-0.Her next opponent was the current Welsh number one in the under-13 age group, Lowri Roberts. Although Jensen sustained an injury during the match she played superbly to win a further 3-1 victory.

Her final match was against Somerset’s Rhianne O’Donnell, currently ranked number six in England. Again Jensen played very well to claim a 3-1 victory against a player ranked two places above her in the England national rankings.
