Slur against school worker was untrue
Friday 7th November 2008, 2:29PM GMT.
ALLEGATIONS against a non-teaching staff member at Amherst Primary School have proved unfounded.
Following investigations, police have confirmed that the staff member is exonerated of any wrongdoing.
It has now been admitted by the complainant that the allegations were false.
‘The Education Department understands that the situation has caused many parents much concern and that our staff member had to endure months of unnecessary torment while the investigation was under way,’ said a spokesman.
‘It is now time for the matter to be closed and I would ask that all parents and the wider community continue to support Amherst Primary School and its staff as they move on from this very regrettable incident.’
The department has written to all parents of pupils currently attending the school informing them of the outcome of the police investigation.
