BEECHWOOD lived up to their favourites tag as they won the seven-a-side island tournament at Hautes Capelles on Saturday.
‘It’s absolutely fantastic and I’m really proud of them,’ said team coach Pete Sergeant. ‘We started off badly but we seemed to get better and better.’
Beechwood began the two-day tournament with a defeat at the hands of Forest on Friday.
But they soon put this behind them and strung together a run of victories to see them qualify to play Castel in the final, which was a real cracker.
Beechwood are now off to Jersey on 14 January to battle for the Channel Islands’ crown and a place at the west regional finals later on in the season.
