IT WAS Dave Rihoy and Marc McGrath rather than Vale Rec who left the Track on Saturday with hat-tricks.

The yellows arrived to take on the champions on the back of wins over the two other title contenders looking to make it three notable scalps in a row.

And they started confidently enough, but in the end Bels’ extra class and experience shone through.

‘We knew that they were going to come out and have a go,’ said Bels captain Sam Cochrane (pictured).

‘They have just beaten Saints and North, so they wanted to have a good shot at beating us as well and it was a decent first half.

‘It was just that little bit extra quality that won us the game in the second.’
