AFTER two weeks of rainfall, the track conditions for the penultimate round of the Guernsey Kart & Motor Club’s 2008 motocross season were far more testing than at the previous few meetings.

Unfortunately, the wet and muddy conditions caught out 15-year-old Josh Nelson, who was competing in his first season of competition in the Youth Open class. He lost control of his 125cc Yamaha machine going into the meadow section and suffered a broken wrist when he parted company with his machine.

Riley King in the autos, Ryan Caurel (intermediates), Luke Lesbirel (seniors), Chip Le Page (youth open) and Marc Cox (adult MX2) all dominated their categories by winning all their races.

In the junior 65cc, usual class winner Connor Hamon was overhauled in two of the races by Bradley Matthews, but it was not without a fight that produced some exciting racing.

The same story occurred in the adult open class, in which Anyon Robilliard had some hard-fought tussles with Carl Wallbridge, but on the day it was Wallbridge who seized the advantage and finished with two wins to Robilliard’s one.
