NO child murders took place at Haut de la Garenne, police have concluded after a major review of evidence gathered during the excavation of the former children’s home.

The chief of Jersey police, Graham Power, has been suspended pending an investigation. He denies any wrong-doing.

The review has rejected several of the key claims made during the investigation into historical child abuse by former deputy police chief Lenny Harper, who led it.

Deputy police chief David Warcup, who now has strategic responsibility for the inquiry, said today at a press conference held at police headquarters that some of the information given out in police statements during the investigation had been incorrect.

  • Senator Stuart Syvret has called a press conference for 3.30 today.

So some of Jerseys top Police brass made a few errors of judgement? Big deal. Does this distract or distort the horrors that actually went on there then? Not in any way at all. This smacks of just another smoke screen to put people off from the facts themselves? These speak volumes actually. Cases like these tend to make peoples emotions run higher than anybody can ever anticipate. Lets not forget that those responsible for doing their jobs at that time of horrors failed across the board at every level!

Given the amount of hunger by the worlds press who ever could be expected to conduct a situation of this magnitude so that everybody is happy with how things were dealt with. Aren’t mistakes made and then we learn from them for the next time! Lenny Harper given his personal circumstances as well as horrors with past cases and experiences should be commended. The average person could not even begin to understand the feelings of others let alone what their emotional state is in. The only people that could not be affected are the despicable sick abusers themselves. The Police Chief is standing firm. This is nice for the truth seekers and more importantly for the victims themselves. I have nothing but respect for these two men. Such a shame that they are not still in the job. With regard to Senator Syvret. WOW! What an absolute geezer! The public needs more people like him in office. Single handedly he took on the sysem and raised issus that desperately needeed raising. Without him I am not sure any justice would have sufficed at all. Just another case of things being swept under the carpet yet again. The people of Jersey have a lot to thank these three decent men for. The truth always does hurt but it is better dealt with all round than to be left unchecked for the next time round. The questions that I would like answered are:

What good is all this squabbling about procedual matters achieving exactly? It would appear to only highten the anger of those that
    suffered!

What is the deal with the teeth found in the cellars? Maybe the tooth fairy placed them there? Also why were the teeth burn’t in the incinerator. Maybe the tooth fairy again?

Would it not be prudent to track down, or attempt to, those that simply dissappeared in the dark of the night never to be seen again? This should not be too difficult if they do still actually exist? Money should not be an excuse eigher.

Nobody likes to here about things of this nature but fact is fact. Life can only be a better place from the outcome of the truth from this disgraceful mess.

It is so comforting to know that not all men are affraid to stand and be counted.

Stop squabbling and spare your thoughts for the victims. Leave the anger for the abusers is the message that the people should be getting. Maybe the abusers themselves should be made to feel affraid. Why are the politicians and police turning on each other when the real people that should be in their sights are feeling comfort from these mud slingers. Start getting to the truth and learn from it! All the victims are wanting is justice and closure at the very least. Not that this will be much comfort but it is a start and lots will be learn’t.

    Seems to be a whitewash.

Seeing Lenny Harper on Spotlight last evening and Frank Walker and the current deputy chief, I know who I would believe.

As stated earlier why no concern about the pile of teeth? Why were they there and who put them there?

The lack of apparent compassion for the numerous people who alleged they were mistreated is disturbing.

Sadly, the UK Press of today seems, like the Guernsey Press to have been taken in by the Jersey PR machine. Hopefully on reflection they will see the inconsistencies in the Jersey story.
