IT IS not often that Mick Le Prevost is mentioned in the same sentence as Arsene Wenger.

But last night at the Track, the North coach did exactly what the Arsenal manager had done the evening before.

Against Wigan in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night, Arsenal had fielded a team of talented youngsters to pull off an impressive victory and North did the same over great rivals Bels in the Stranger Cup quarter-finals.

Le Prevost had gone on the record earlier in the week saying that he was going to field a young side and he stuck to his word when teenagers Matt Loaring, Scott Bougourd, Nigel Hutton, Miles Pengelley and Jack Domaille were all named in the starting line-up instead of big name players such as Craig Young, Michael Wilson, Paul Page and the injured Glyn Dyer and Gavin Le Page.

‘I said I was going to put kids in and I’ve got faith in them,’ said Le Prevost. ‘They never gave up and they worked really hard. I’ve got a great squad of players and they are a good bunch of lads.

‘I’ve got a problem now with selection, but that’s what I want.’
