ANDY PRIAULX races in Macau at the weekend and for the first time he will be without the pressure of the FIA World Touring Car Championship title weighing down on him.

For three years in a row, Priaulx has had to pull out all the stops on the Far Eastern city circuit to claim the championship.

But this year the Sarnian is out of the running with only Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini able to claim the world crown.

However, Priaulx said yesterday that he was looking to end his season in style with a third-place finish.

‘I can’t say I am happy not to have the pressure of a title battle, but it does mean I can go all out for a good result and not have to think about anything else,’ he said.

‘Yesterday I was able to have a bit of fun with Gabriele and Yvan at a PR event and we even mocked up a photo of me giving them advice while they were sparring. All I can say now is may the best driver win.’
