A MULTI-MILLION-pound investment is being made by Huelin-Renouf Shipping into the lifeline route between the Channel Islands and the UK.
With new chief executive officer Keith Renouard at the helm, the company is investing in a specially commissioned container ship while at the same time a new £6m. mini-container terminus is under construction in Southampton.
Mr Renouard said the company was sorry to be leaving Portsmouth after more than 30 years, but the move to Southampton would enable it to be more self-sufficient and it would also be able to offer improved services as well as consolidating the existing business.
‘This is the right move for Huelin-Renouf and our customers as being based in Southampton means we shall be able to offer new services, such as warehouse storage and bonded warehousing.
