WHAT better way to end the motocross year than with a win over Jersey?
But that was the pleasing climax to the domestic season at Pleinmont, with the local team handling the pressure, showing a lot of determination, enjoying a little bit of good fortune and regaining the inter-insular trophy.
In the auto race, Guernsey riders Riley King, Josh Lambourne and Connor Gill had no trouble in building up a five-point advantage for the home team.
This advantage was increased by a further four points in the junior 65cc race.
Bradley Matthews had a race-long battle with Jersey rider Connor Hamon until Hamon fell under pressure on the last lap and gifted Guernsey riders Matthews and Louie Waddingham the first two places.
In the smaller of the 85cc classes, Frankie Brouard, Freddie Bates and Chloe ‘Peanut’ MacDonald were no match for the talented Jersey trio, who took the first three positions and in so doing the nine-point advantage was wiped out.
