SHANE BENTLEY and Sam Robins were undoubtedly the stars at the West Coast Sea Angling Club’s Specimen Fish Hunt presentation night held at the Halfmoon Restaurant.
Bentley was the winner of the event for the second year in succession. He picked up the Peter Perrio Trophy. Besides taking home the numerous awards for his victory, he also won many other prizes.
These included a share in the team one, four best-fish awards and two Fish Hunt records. It is estimated that his winnings had a total value of £1,667.
Sam Robins, who finished in the runner-up position, was to go even better. His various awards were worth £1,156 but he also won the £1,000 cash prize for breaking a Bailiwick record with his 1-12-12 twaite shad.
After a hard-fought and close contest, Shane and Steve Huxster, Tim Cotterill and Sam Robins won the team awards. Their score of 643.79% gave them victory by only 19.07%. As a result they took home prizes worth £400 each.
The runners-up were Caleb Zunino, Billy Forman, Pierre Garrick and Keith Quertier.
