DUE to inclement weather the Guernsey Riding & Hunt Club held this year’s horse trials comprising dressage, show jumping and cross-country over two consecutive weekends.

The event commenced with the dressage and show-jumping phases, which were held at Les Bordages, while the cross-country element was located at Les Picques Farm by kind permission of Claire and James Watts.

Despite the howling winds and rain, the dressage element, judged by Annabel Harvey from Jersey, resulted in some highly commendable scores, which stood many competitors in good stead for the remaining two phases of the horse trials.

Shelley Tostevin, Estelle Pitman and Georgia Renouf were all victorious in their respective dressage category, with Tostevin and Cadnam Catnap attaining the highest score of the day, guaranteeing them the Senior Dressage Champion Trophy.

Amelia Jeffery and her horse, Kannoko, proved a very successful partnership for the dressage and show-jumping element, finishing on a combined 190 and claiming the accolade of highest senior dressage score.
