Guernsey at the double

THE Guernsey women’s team completed a stunning double as they claimed inter-insular and CI International Championship honours at the weekend.
It was a remarkable performance from the Sarnians, particularly in the overall event at Jersey Planet Pool & Snooker, which also included teams representing Somerset and Taunton.
The inter-insular match formed part of the initial round-robin stage and it was a tense encounter.
Shannine Opie’s crucial win over Christelle Le Toullec gave the Sarnians a 3-2 advantage at the end of the first session, with Dora Piskorska and Becci Welsh also winning their frames.
