THERE are two new faces at the Guernsey Sports Commission.
Beckie Wain is the new community sports development officer and Ryan French has been appointed as a sports development officer.
Wain was born and educated in Stoke-on-Trent and has a strong background and supporting qualifications in both youth work and sports education.
Before moving to Guernsey and to the commission, she worked for the Bracknell Forest Borough Council’s Youth Service as a mobile bus project worker. She had responsibility for the management, delivery and development of the borough-wide, double-decker youth bus provision and committee-run youth centre.
London-born French was educated in Banbury, Oxfordshire, where he went on to complete a national diploma in sports studies before attending Northampton University where he obtained a BA (Hons) degree in sport and health studies. During this time he spent all his summer holidays working at a camp at Cape Cod in Massachusetts, where he progressed from a camp counsellor to a senior member of staff.
