Sarnian quartet roll their way to 13th in Belfast

RECENTLY the IV Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships were held in Belfast where 16 nations with teams of two men and two women participated.
Guernsey’s representatives were Lauren Hurford, Joanne Johnson, Steve Cutler and Derek Tomlin.
The women’s singles events opened the competition, in which Hurford finished in 14th position with an average of 197 and Johnson came 26th on 172.83, while the men’s singles saw Tomlin finish 23rd on 188.83 and Cutler 31st with 166.
Hurford and Johnson placed eighth in the doubles event, averaging 180.75, with Cutler and Tomlin finishing in 13th spot with an average of 181.50, hence the overall standings saw Guernsey taking 13th place.
