GUERNSEY’S top darts players leave today to face some of the best in the business at the 35th Winmau World Masters.
Held in Bridlington, Yorkshire, the competition kicks off tomorrow and continues until Sunday.
All the major dart-playing countries are represented and the latter stages of the tournament are being televised live on the BBC.
‘It’s going to be an experience and everyone is looking forward to it,’ said Guernsey team member Jason Allez.
‘It’s going to be an eye-opener. I’m going more for the experience and to try to see how good I can be. If I play the way I can, I’ll give someone a good game.’
His younger brother, Shaun, joins the 29-year-old Allez in the ranks, as do Mick Le Gallic, Phil Dodd and Mark Fletcher.
June Allen, who has competed in past Winmau World Masters, is Guernsey’s sole representative in the women’s event.
