0232661.jpgNEW Guernsey coach Tony Vance has named a provisional 28-man squad for next year’s NatWest Island Games in Aland.

The players on the list today received a letter from the Guernsey Football Association notifying them of their selection.

The final squad of 20 to go to the Games, which are being held from Saturday 27 June to Saturday 4 July, will be announced in early spring.

‘I’m very pleased with the response from the players and the competition for places in the 20-man squad is very healthy,’ said Vance (pictured).

‘At this stage it looks like we are going to be able to take a very strong squad.’

Vance took over from Steve Ogier as the island boss in September and he has picked a squad that could have easily been selected by his predecessor as there are no real surprises.
