DAN SMALE’S hat-trick propelled Office Maker into the last eight of the FA Cup at the Track last night.
A 3-0 win over Bels’ under-21s side playing under the guise of Amalgamated FC was hardly comfortable but the better side clearly won on a perfectly still evening for football.
Amalgamated posed much of the early threat, not least through striker Danny Marquand.
After just six minutes he created room for himself and fired a low shot just a few inches wide of the far post. Midway through the half Marquand struck a fierce right-foot shot which severely tested William Woodford, but gradually Amalgamated’s goal threat waned and Jon Loaring had the ball in the net at the other end only for it to be ruled offside.
On 37min. Office Maker went ahead. James Mullen squared the ball on the edge of the area and Smale sidefooted home. He added a second early in the second half and completed his hat-trick with a superbly worked third late on created by the Loarings, Jon and dad Bobby.Crimestoppers Guernsey FA Cup: North second team move into quarter-finals
