LE MONT SAINT have taken the top spot in Yorkshire Guernsey Division One after they defeated club-mates Fiat at the weekend.

In another close match at Beau Sejour, Saints won by just four points, 74-70. ‘It was nip and tuck all the way – it was close,’ said Saints’ player-coach Pete Beausire.

‘They had a seven-point lead going into the third, then we were tied going into the last minute of the game. Both teams were in foul trouble, but we won it on free throws.’

Saints’ top scorer was centre Mike Beausire, who ended with 27 points under the basket.

James Tracey also had another great game. The New Zealander, who has a wicked outside shot, tops the division one averages with 100 points in four matches.
