NASHCOPY have won the inaugural Steve Le Poidevin men’s volleyball vase.

From the start of the final against Orchard Events, NashCopy showed that they are a team to be reckoned with.

Ryan Martel gave them an unassailable lead from the service line, as Orchard struggled with the dig and court positioning.

It was an overwhelming first set for NashCopy, with good spikes from all players. In the second, Steve Adam took on the serving honours as NashCopy again pulled away.

Orchard Events had a lot to learn in their first season of men’s volleyball, which was shown up in this match. Martin Scott and Marco Silvestri put in a determined effort along with steady setting from Garth Norman.

But that was not enough to stem the tide and the match seemed to be over before it started.
