Promotion nearer after perfect trip

A PERFECT weekend in Cippenham has left the SportingBet Guernsey men’s table tennis squad top of Division Two South of the British Table Tennis League.
Four wins from as many matches was more than captain Phil Ogier had hoped for as they chased promotion.
‘This is the first time I can remember the Guernsey side has recorded four match wins in a single weekend of the British League,’ he said. ‘I am delighted. I think we put a little bit of pressure on ourselves, especially against Byng Hall, but the team came through.
‘I’ve got to give credit to Olly [Langlois] (pictured), who had another good weekend and was man of the match against Byng.
‘Scott [Romeril] also gave it his all despite still not having fully recovered from a recent illness. The old man of the team wasn’t too bad for once either,’ he said in reference to his own form.
The Guernsey side arrived at Cippenham Table Tennis Club sitting on top of the league table on games difference from Mossford.
